Road to UFC Shanghai closes with Maheshate submission and split draw

Maheshate finishes the main event

Maheshate defeated Darrius Flowers by guillotine choke at 2:31 of round one in the non-tournament lightweight main event. The result is separate from the Road to UFC bracket but closes the official Shanghai card with a first-round submission.

Middleweights split the scorecards

Yilizhati Maimaitijiang and Tre’ston Vines fought to a split draw in their non-tournament middleweight bout. UFC lists the scorecards as 29–28, 28–29 and 28–28, leaving neither fighter with a win from the three-round contest.

The tournament finals are set

Rabindra Dhant defeated Kasib Murdoch by split decision and will meet Ryo Tajima in the bantamweight final. George Mangos submitted Ahejiang Ailinuer by rear-naked choke at 2:03 of round two and will face Dagiisuren Chagnaadorj at featherweight. Meng Bo completed the women’s strawweight pairing with BoHyun Park by split decision.

Park defeated Farida Abdueva by unanimous decision, 29–28 on all three cards. Tajima advanced over Chungreng Koren by unanimous decision, 30–27, 29–28 and 29–28. Chagnaadorj submitted YoungJae Song with a rear-naked choke at 2:51 of round one.

Takaya Suzuki stopped Joseph Larcinese with strikes 15 seconds into round three. UFC’s later scale report confirmed Jiniushiyue as Suzuki’s flyweight final opponent after Takeru Uchida missed weight and their semifinal was cancelled.
